Free-scoring Manchester City hosted West Ham, who conceded a total of 12 goals in losing all three competitive meetings between the sides last season. The day's other match came on the south coast, where Eddie Howe's Bournemouth hosted Southampton, who won 3-1 on their most recent visit a year ago.
