The Reds had looked on course to win their first Premier League title that season, but defeat at Anfield – precipitated by Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip – ultimately saw them pipped at the post by Manchester City. City, meanwhile, also face a tricky task as they take on a Palace side that beat them 3-2 in the reverse fixture thanks to an Andros Townsend wonder goal.
