The neighboring kingdom of Velquin would make a powerful ally for Camelot, so Arthur and Guinevere decide to meet with King Edward to discuss the matter. While Edward appears to be open to embracing the ideals of the New Order, his sister Sadisa is a firm believer in her people's tradition of conquest. This tense and delicate situation grows profoundly worse when Arthur is poisoned during dinner.
