Rumor has it that Ting Fung Shing is involved in salt smuggling and is closed for investigation. Depositors all rush to withdraw their taels. TIN, without the consent of YIP first, asks for the help of other draft banks. TIN is turned down as owners of the other banks all believe in TAI’s alarmist’s talk.
