MC, knowing that PAUL has been very down because of PHOEBE’s illness, goes and cheers him up. BETSY can see that MC does not trust her. HENRY gives her some words of consolations, only to be accused of leading to her present situation. The workmen at the furniture store of GRACE’s family are going to CHRIS’ place to repair his bed. GRACE goes with them. HENRY is at a bookshop when he meets SUE, who sent the victim of a car accident to hospital the other day. PAUL returns to his car to take something, leaving FRANCES alone in the bar. When he returns, he is shocked to see that something has happened in the bar. He tells FRANCES how worried he is. MC sees HENRY and SUE together. HENRY worries that he will tell SARAH about this. PHOEBE is standing dangerously at the roof top. PAUL manages to persuade her into giving up her suicidal thought. BETSY is home. She discovers some traces which suggest that HENRY has taken a woman home.… ...
