Imitator (Part 1)

Single mother Lo Yi-lai and her son Cheung Tsz-lang depend on each other for survival. Yi-lai's preoccupation with making ends meet has left Tsz-lang with a self-taught childhood. He matures and sometimes even cares for his reckless mother. Lydia arrives in a parallel universe, disguised as Ella, determined to uncover Maurice's whereabouts. A job opportunity leads Yi-lai to meet District Council candidate Ho Yi-sing, whose positive energy and encouragement help her regain her confidence and hope for the future. However, good times don't last long, as Yi-lai is later assaulted by her landlord. With Yi-lai in danger, Tsz-lang feels guilty for being unable to protect his mother. This is when a mysterious stranger, Mimi, takes advantage of the situation and approaches him.
