From the U-K's "Dominic's Pizza" to Iran's "Pizza Hat" to China's "7-12", knock off fast food places are far more common than most Americans realize. But the strange Burger King that briefly existed on the south side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania wasn't just an imitation with a deceptively similar name, it was an outright counterfeit. The building said Burger King, the uniforms said Burger King, and so did the receipts, but when employees started telling customers they were out of items like Whoppers, and food started being served in plain brown lunch bags and dixie cups, locals began to realize that something was up. So on this episode of Weird History Food, we're going to get to the bottom of what was going on at the infamous rogue Burger King of Pittsburgh.
