One thousand years after humanity escapes Earth, a new home on Nova Prime is established. After an asteroid storm damages their craft, a father and his 13-year-old son crash-land on a dangerous, unfamiliar Earth, and the son must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon.
