Kon-Tiki follows six Scandinavian scientists led by Thor Heyerdahl as they set off on a 101-day voyage from South America to the Polynesian Islands on a wooden raft. Their goal is to test a theory about how the islands could have been populated from the east, using winds, tides, and raft-building meant to match earlier conditions.
