In 1990s Miami, a gym manager sets out to chase his version of the American dream through extortion, recruiting two musclemen as accomplices. Their plan escalates when they abduct a wealthy businessman and convince him to sign over his assets, but his survival leaves authorities struggling to believe what happened.
