In 1831 Edinburgh, an eminent doctor’s medical teaching is strained by a shortage of bodies, drawing him into an illegal grave-robbing scheme run by an affable cab driver. Their shared, unresolved past fuels intimidation and leads the doctor’s search for progress into a darker spiral.
