In a parallel present, a struggling delivery worker accepts a grim gig-economy job that sends him deep into a forest to pull cable and connect large metal cubes for a quantum trading market. As the work intensifies, growing hostility and threats from robot cablers force him to decide whether to help fellow workers or chase riches and escape.
