During wartime in southern Israel, the days leading up to the Jewish new year become a tense, reflective stretch focused on repentance and asking forgiveness. An Orthodox man becomes convinced he can’t move forward unless he earns forgiveness from a friend, setting off a chain of events that mixes urgency, faith, and misadventure.
