A group of astronomers launches themselves toward the Moon in a bullet-shaped craft fired from a giant cannon. After landing, they explore a strange, dreamlike landscape and venture into shadowy caves, where unfamiliar inhabitants and odd hazards turn their expedition into a frantic fight to get home.
