Baumbach is challenging himself with White Noise. It’s more of a heightened reality than his other films, inching toward an aesthetic akin to Wes Anderson, both in production design and his actors deadpan line deliveries. I’m not familiar with the book, but there’s an existential dread oozing out of White Noise that make it feel like a modern Franz Kafka work. Probably would benefit from a second watch, but I’m not sure there’s enough to drawn me into it again. 💊💊💊.5 / 💊💊💊💊💊.
