A dreamy young aristocrat spends his days in the countryside reading poetry and declaring love to a statue. When a celebrated traveling “magician” arrives and dazzles high society, the young man begs him to use his mysterious powers to make the statue come alive, setting off a mix of romance, comedy, and satire.
