Thousands of royal artifacts from the West African kingdom of Dahomey were taken by French colonists in the 19th century and displayed in Paris. Centuries later, a small number return to modern-day Benin, following the journey of 26 treasures as cultural historians, students, and one repatriated statue share their perspectives.
