Fellini reflects on his long fascination with clowns and the circus, beginning with a childhood memory when a circus comes to his neighborhood. He then travels from Italy to Paris with his crew to track down famous European clowns, and he also encounters Anita Ekberg at a circus while she tries to buy a panther.
