Lawrence and Pattinson are compelling to watch from scene to scene in this slow burn descent into postpartum psychosis. There’s some nice cinematography, and a great use of John Prine’s “In Spite of Ourselves.” Spacek and Nolte also give career highlight performances. Unfortunately, never found this to be more than the sum of its parts. The movie’s ambiguity I never really found intriguing. More dark comedy or outlandishness would have gone a long way for me. 🐴🐴🐴 / 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴.
