Murky and gloomy times have come. Humor is going underground.

Children can see perfectly well that something terrible is happening in the world. With their country and with the neighboring one. How to talk to them about it without causing trauma. It is they, the children, who will live with the consequences of this horror. Not sure Masyanya did it well, but she tried.

Empathy is the main human feeling. The ability to sympathize. The ability to put yourself in another's place. This cartoon is addressed to those who, by some monstrous mistake, support the Russo-Ukrainian war.

Reality at this point is so absurd that one needn't bother making the plot even remotely realistic. On the contrary — the more absurd, the closer it gets to reality. And humor will survive — it doesn't care about realism and it is the opposite of aggression. So the more laughs there are — the sooner Evil will go away.

A hypothetical situation. Many people, it seems to me, still don't understand that animation is exaggeration, pushing things to the point of absurdity. And in this way, through caricature, we see the essence. Well, so let's push. Bon appétit!

Since the normal future has been killed, one has to invent it. What will happen to everyone in 2050? Nobody dares to predict. And this is also NOT a prediction. This is a free artistic fantasy as one of the possible scenarios. And claims to be nothing more. The main character in this cartoon is not the heroes, oddly enough, but the circumstances. A little artistic trick. If someone thinks: "This is a pretty controversial cartoon" — the answer is: Well, duh! It is controversial! I make controversial cartoons, in case you didn't know... With the words 'Director's Cut' I'm sort of warning you that the episode is long. Though all my cartoons are director's cuts. There can't be any other version, because I do everything alone. I can't even make an electrician's cut — I fix everything myself. :) So pick a time to watch the whole thing calmly in one sitting. This isn't some TikTok clip to scroll past — this is about a genuinely serious metaphysical paradox. We all want there to have been no Hitler or Stalin in the past, but would we ourselves exist then?..

So here's the thing — introducing the concept of 'parallel reality' into the series allows one to somewhat justify the existence of peaceful storylines in our nightmarish times. This is also a slight continuation of the "Plavunets" episode... but that will only become clear at the very end.

I'm already afraid to make dystopian videos because too often they become reality. Honestly I exaggerate to get a laugh, but dictators do all of this in earnest with real people. But what choice do I have? The principle of my cartoons is absurdity built on elements of reality. And if the elements of reality are dark — then the humor will be dark too.

There are all kinds of perverted forms of human oppression. And nobody believes it will happen in their lifetime, in their city, in their country. Such forms of dictatorship and violence never end well... if taken to their logical conclusion... I apologize in advance to all the Antons.. :)

A somewhat heavy cartoon. In every sense. You can't call it light. About the struggle against evil. About tragedies. About war. About survival. About despair. About flight. About.. today.
