Steptoe and Son follows a father and son who make a living selling used items from Oil Drum Lane in Shepherd’s Bush, London. Their day-to-day life is fueled by arguments, schemes, and constant attempts to get one over on each other.

Harold is offered a role in a new play performed by the local amateur dramatic society. They are to hold a rehearsal at his house but are one actor short, so Albert is asked to take part.
