KO CHI LING is glad that her business trip was cancelled. She heads for home in delight, but is shocked to find her husband MAN KING LEUNG cheating on her. She demands a divorce. She does not want her father to know about her separation with LEUNG, thus checks in a hotel temporarily. The house of the KO’s family needs renovation. LING’s father WING TIM decides to undertake a complete make over as a gesture to welcome his baby grandson. LING lends him all her savings of $200,000 in the name of LEUNG. LING comes across LEUNG’s mistress GINNY at the fitness center. GINNY makes fun of LING and they end up in a quarrel. Coach CHAI FOON overhears their conversation. LING works at “PLUTO” and her superior at work has been dismissed.… ...

LING plans to finish the research report on her own, but FOON helps out when she is asleep. She is praised by HILDA the next day and appreciates FOON’s help. She treats FOON to lunch. They come across LEUNG and GINNY at the restaurant. FOON pretends to be LING’s boyfriend and helps her get back at LEUNG. TIM mistakenly thinks LING is having an affair and hits FOON. LING and FOON go to “PLEASE” to negotiate with LEUNG on the display fee. LEUNG asks for a three percent increase and tries to coax LING into signing the contract. However, GINNY suddenly appears and blows the deal. HILDA on the one hand blames LEUNG for playing politics, and on the other, pressures LING to close the deal with LEUNG by threatening him with a divorce. LING is stranded. TIM is about to have his birthday and LEUNG tells LING he is willing to organise a banquet for him. FOON reminds LING to be careful, for he believes LEUNG has other intentions.… ...

HILDA urges LING to close the deal with LEUNG and threatens to fire her. LING is upset and tells HILDA that she and LEUNG have already separated. LING proposes a plan to convince drug stores from selling unlicensed products. HILDA supports her proposition, but FOON thinks it is not feasible. He suggests contacting the drug store association first. He also discloses that his grandfather CHAI LOI used to be quite influential in the drug store business. LING follows FOON to visit his grandmother CHEUNG PAK CHI on Lamma Island. Unfortunately, CHI and FOON’s mother TONG LAI CHU are having a quarrel. HILDA has a dinner appointment with her boss MA SAI HIN and his wife VENUS. HILDA and VENUS are very good friends. However, she is upset to know HIN and VENUS have invited KP to join their dinner. KP is the Asia-Pacific Executive Vice President of “PLEASE” and also the ex-boyfriend of HILDA. She questions KP about the display fee negotiation.… ...

FOON is on a trip to Australia and LING, therefore, has to go to Lamma Island alone to seek CHI’s help to convince all drug stores’ bosses at a seafood banquet she is about to hold. CHI is delighted to see LING and teaches her how to make local delicacies. While LING is waiting for the ferry at the pier with all the drug stores’ bosses, CHI calls and demands to see FOON. She will not help organise the seafood banquet if FOON is not there to visit her. All the drug stores’ bosses then leave. LING is distressed. Suddenly, FOON appears. Annoyed, she snatches the box from FOON’s hands and throws it onto the ground. When she sees the ashes, she realises she has made a huge mistake. FOON’s brother and sister-in-law were killed in an accident in Australia and FOON went there to bring their daughter back to Hong Kong.… ...

LEUNG informs KONG WING NIN, the boss of “PLEASE”, that KP is taking advantage from the company by dealing with HILDA under the table. KP is caught red-handed and fired by NIN’s granddaughter CRYSTAL at once. “PLUTO” remains in contract with “PLEASE” and HILDA treats LING and FOON to a seafood dinner on Lamma Island. HILDA and LING visit a goddess temple there and the fortune-teller tells HILDA that she is going to have a daughter. LING will also have a second marriage in three months’ time. Both ladies have doubts. LING goes for a walk on the beach and when she approaches a giant rock, FOON pulls her away. He doesn’t want her to see the inscription “I want to marry KO CHI LING” there. FOON recalls he fell in love with LING when she became his private tutor. He asks LING to teach his niece WING YEE. LING finds YEE to be too obedient and quiet.… ...

HILDA gives IDA’s jewelry to YEE and teaches her to fight for what she wants. HILDA tells LING that she wants to get pregnant and become an unmarried mother. LING is shocked. CHU hates LING, since CHI and YEE favors her more. She accuses LING of pleasing CHI and YEE to get close to FOON. However, LING expressed that she is not interested in younger men like FOON. FOON is sad to hear that. HILDA is screening the leading actors for her TV commercial. She also wants to see if there is anyone suitable to make her pregnant, but, unfortunately, there is none. FOON volunteers to be the main actor and HILDA asks LING to try seduce him to test if he can be trusted. LING dresses in sexy outfits and buys FOON breakfasts. This makes him feel very uneasy. LEUNG pretends to be suffering from “Road Crossing Phobia” and CRYSTAL blames herself for that. She decides to escort him to and from work. LEUNG is happy that his plan is working, but then he finds out CRYSTAL has studied body language at school and starts to worry that she will find out his pretence. HILDA tests FOON and is stunned to know that he is in love with LING. When FOON is shooting the TV commercial, HILDA teaches him to get into his role and try to impress LING. However, on the other hand, she makes LING distant from FOON. LING learns from the script that FOON is in love with her and FOON takes the opportunity to express his love. LING doesn’t know what to do and declines him, as instructed by HILDA. Feeling hurt, FOON gets drunk. HILDA takes the chance and takes him to a hotel. LING takes a short leave to avoid seeing FOON. FOON doesn’t give up and keeps sending her flowers and funny emails.… ...

HILDA, LING and FOON discuss their promotion plan for ladies’ napkins. FOON suggests promoting from a men’s angle and HILDA likes the idea. People at the office are gossiping about HILDA’s relationship with FOON. LING appears to be very agitated and keeps pointing out the bad side of an older woman dating a younger man. Whilst she is talking, LING remembers HILDA’s plan for pregnancy and starts to be worried about FOON. FOON believes LING has feelings for him, only she dares not to show them. HILDA suggests he goes to a hotel with her to make LING jealous. FOON agrees. LING is pissed when she knows that HILDA is spending the night with FOON while she is working hard with the rest of team at the office on the promotion project. She rushes to the hotel and sees that HILDA is seducing FOON into bed. Enraged, she scolds HILDA and blurts out she has fallen for FOON. FOON is delighted.… ...

IDA is meeting her friend CRYSTAL in a restaurant and has a quarrel with the waiter. LIK appears and helps her settle the dispute. In order to better understand the pain and uneasiness a woman feels during menstruation, FOON tries to eat a lot of sour food. IDA and CRYSTAL visit LIK’s sushi bar and finds out LEUNG is the boss. CRYSTAL changes her views towards LEUNG. IDA wants to learn to make sushi, but LIK refuses to take female apprentice. LEUNG asks LIK to hire her as a waitress. NUN’s wife KOON KA YUNG buys a new apartment without discussing it with him. NUN is anxious, as he has to come up with $300,000 in three months’ time to pay for the down payment. HILDA is thrilled to find IDA at home when she returns. HILDA follows IDA to work in NUN’s taxi and finds her working in a sushi bar. However, she dare not go up to her. HILDA is surprised when NUN volunteers to donate his sperm to HILDA for the $300,000 she offers.… ...

HILDA knows NUN is desperate to raise $300,000 and tells him she may be able to help. NUN arrives at HILDA’s home according to schedule and finds another man there. He asks the man not to compete with him. NUN realises he has mistaken HILDA. YUNG and LING then arrive. YUNG criticises HILDA for her idea of becoming an unmarried mother. She believes HILDA is unfit to become a mother, since she has not considered the baby’s future. YUNG gets so irritated that her water breaks and has to go to the hospital. She gives birth to her baby and her family gathers around her. HILDA then realises the importance of a father to a child and knows she is really unfit for being a mother, and that she is not even a good sister. IDA receives a cassette tape and, after listening to it, she forgives HILDA. LEUNG is jealous when he sees LING dating FOON. CRYSTAL analyses his behavior and tells him to learn to let go.… ...

CRYSTAL realises LEUNG is becoming more aloof. She tells him that she likes him, but needs time to develop a relationship with him. LEUNG is glad to hear that. HILDA visits IDA at the sushi bar, but IDA embarrasses her by criticising her in public. LING and FOON go to work out at the fitness center. FOON is not happy with that fact that they have to date secretly. He proposes marriage and that scares LING off. She rejected. FOON asks LEUNG to divorce LING quickly so that he can marry her. LEUNG tells him that they are already divorced. CRYSTAL advises FOON to help LING regain her confidence in love. FOON is hit by a car. Frantic, LING breaks into tears. FOON suddenly regains consciousness and asks LING to marry him. HIN wants to develop the market in Shanghai and asks HILDA to go there to help him. HILDA hesitates. HILDA knows that IDA quit her job to avoid seeing her.… ...

The day LING leaves for Shanghai is exactly the three months’ deadline mentioned by the fortune-teller. LING, therefore, believes that there won’t be any second love in her life. She heads for the airport feeling sad. FOON follows her to the airport and tells her that he has scheduled their marriage at the registry office. He also tells her that he will wait for her at the registry office to marry her. LING doesn’t know what to do. When she sees her picture with FOON in a magazine, she decides to get off the plane. FOON is waiting for LING at the registry office and when he sees LING, he kneels down once again to propose to her. He tells her that he has booked a wedding banquet for her too and LING is surprised. HILDA discovers that she is pregnant. HIN thus disapproves of her going to Shanghai. This makes VENUS wonder if the two of them are having an affair.… ...

HILDA decides to raise the baby alone without letting LEUNG know he is the father. LEUNG starts working at “PLUTO”. When IDA learns that HILDA is pregnant, she despises her. VENUS, on the other hand, tries to coax her into an abortion. She keeps telling her about the bad side of advanced maternity and of a child without a father. HILDA is at crossroads. She is nearly hit by a car when she is thinking while crossing a road. Fortunately, LEUNG passes by and saves her. LEUNG offers to be the father of the child and help raise it when he learns that HILDA wants to have an abortion. He tries to talk her out of the thought and HILDA doesn’t know what to do. LEUNG brings HILDA to visit the orphanage where he grew up and tells her that he had always wanted a son. He stresses that he is willing to be the father of the child and HILDA finally agrees to give up the idea of abortion.… ...

HIN discovers that VENUS is checking up on him and he pretends to be unaware of it. When she is playing baseball with her son, she deliberately throws the ball at HILDA. HILDA is scared stiff and is sent to hospital to check on the baby. VENUS tells LING that HILDA is having an affair with HIN and asks LING to help send her away. LING refuses. HILDA decides to take a short break and puts LING in charge in her absence. This move annoys DANIEL, who is in the same ranking as LING. HILDA and LEUNG find out that LIK is in love with IDA and teach him how to win her heart. LIK does as they told him, but can get nowhere. IDA discovers that LIK has her photo in his wallet and realises he is in love with her. DANIEL discovers TIM’s subordinates are cheating on the company and turns him in. HILDA’s enemy KEI deliberately takes the matter to HIN. HILDA reluctantly has to ask LING to fire TIM. When HILDA leaves the office, her water breaks.… ...

IDA goes to visit the baby girl at the hospital and overhears HILDA blaming herself for being too stern on her. She then realises HILDA loves her very much. She breaks into tears and reconciles with her sister. FOON is unhappy, as he thinks he is not successful in his career. LING comforts him. HIN praises LING for her outstanding performance during HILDA’s absence and she takes the opportunity to ask HIN to promote FOON. HIN refuses. HILDA criticises LING for taking things personal, and LING accuses her of being too selfish. VENUS tells LING that HIN admires FOON’s talents. She implies that HILDA deliberately fired TIM and objected to FOON’s promotion because she is jealous of LING. VENUS tries to talk LING into fighting against HILDA. HIN asks all managers to submit a promotional plan for a new diaper, and whoever comes up with the best plan will be responsible for the whole project.… ...

FOON is suspended from work. He is worried that he will be sacked and tries hard to look for another job. LING comforts him, saying that he will be fine. HILDA is sad to know that LING has betrayed her. VENUS thanks KEI for helping her kick HILDA away. They then discover they are cousins. HIN is disappointed to know that VENUS has set HILDA up. HILDA asks LING to meet with her and discovers that LING mistakes her for being HIN’s mistress. Together, they go to VENUS to find out the truth. The three of them finally realise that they are being played by KEI. She is in fact HIN’s mistress. HILDA is determined to get back at her. VENUS and KEI make an agreement – VENUS will let HIN go, but keep the children. TIM goes to work at LIK’s sushi bar. He creates a lot of trouble there and makes LIK hurt himself. HILDA returns to “PLUTO” and asks KEI for a job there as her subordinate. LEUNG learns from NIN that CRYSTAL plans to woo FOON.… ...

HIN catches sight of KEI hitting his children. In rage, he asks her to leave. VENUS decides to divorce HIN, as she believes he does not love her anymore. HILDA and LING are shocked. HILDA resumes work at “PLUTO” and tells LING that she will ask FOON to rejoin the company and promote him. LING is delighted. FOON, however, thinks LING minds him being so junior and is depressed. CRYSTAL takes the opportunity to hug him. She also tells him she loves him. FOON is aghast. LING witnesses everything and leaves sadly. LING announces that FOON can resume work at “PLUTO” and she decides to have a baby. FOON is overjoyed. FOON tells LING that CRYSTAL has told him she loves him, but he reassures LING that he only loves her. IDA knows LIK is in love with her but is too shy to tell her. She decides to make him express his love in public. HILDA is rushing to complete a toothpaste agency contract and neglects her baby daughter, who has a fever.… ...

HILDA tells VENUS that LEUNG is in fact the real father of her daughter. VENUS is stunned. LEUNG proposes to HILDA, but she doesn’t know what to do. NIN is worried that FOON is having an affair with CRYSTAL and asks LEUNG not to give her up. He hints that LEUNG will have a chance to take over “PLEASE” and LEUNG is glad. He offers a false marriage to CRYSTAL, saying that they can have their own affair after the marriage. CRYSTAL refuses. HILDA promotes FOON and asks him to take over LEUNG’s projects. LEUNG is furious and resigns. The toothpaste producer, JIMMY, requests to end its contract with “PLUTO” in view of HIN’s scandalising affair and HILDA finds this hard to believe. NIN suddenly asks to meet with HIN and HILDA, and tells them that LEUNG has secured a new contract with the toothpaste producer. LEUNG will be setting up a new company to handle this new contract. HILDA and HIN then realise that LEUNG has set them up.… ...

FOON hands in his resignation and tells HILDA he is joining “PLEASE”. He plans to outperform LEUNG to take revenge. LING believes he does all this for CRYSTAL and FOON is all the more upset. FOON volunteers to take over the toothpaste promotion project. NIN, however, asks him to set up his own company to implement his own promotion plan. If he is successful, NIN will then acquire his company and let him replace LEUNG. LIK learns about LEUNG’s evil deeds from FOON and tries to beat him up. However, he hurts himself. LIK is unable to work with his right hand and decides to resign. IDA refuses to leave with him. LIK’s master is impressed by IDA’s creativity and believes she is more talented than LIK. LIK apologises to IDA and asks her to marry him. However, he requests her to stay home after their marriage. IDA thinks that LIK does not acknowledge her talent. Upset, she decides to break up with LIK.… ...

FOON and CRYSTAL go to Japan to meet with NORIKO’s manager, but fail to secure NORIKO as their spokesperson since LEUNG is playing tricks behind their back. LEUNG also persuades TIM and LIK to back off from helping FOON by offering TIM a position as transport executive, and LIK half of the sushi bar’s shares. LIK cannot use a knife since his right hand is hurt. IDA encourages him and offers to open a sushi bar with him. LIK refuses. CRYSTAL buys LING a lot of cosmetics from Japan. FOON is suddenly inspired. He thinks it is more appropriate to invite NORIKO’s make-up artist to be the spokesperson, as he considers toothpaste an important element in beauty makeup. LING tells CHU and other relatives that she is not pregnant. CHI faints when she overhears. LING calls FOON for help but is surprised to hear CRYSTAL’s voice on the phone. Taken back, LING is heart-broken.… ...

NIN is infuriated when he learns that LEUNG and CRYSTAL have long broken up and that LEUNG has proposed a false marriage to CRYSTAL. He fires him. LEUNG goes to HILDA’s home to visit the baby, but is rejected. He pours out his grievances to IDA. He then learns from IDA that LIK is getting depressed due to his hand injury. So they pretend to be lovers in the hope of making him jealous and prompt him to stand back up on his feet. VENUS returns from the US and learns that “PLEASE” is fighting over an agency contract. She thinks the company has to be very careful. FOON hands in his resignation to CRYSTAL. He tells her that the fights over the toothpaste promotion contract are a way to prove his ability to LING. LING asks FOON to dinner and they dance during the meal. FOON hugs her tightly and tells her he loves her. LING is touched. The next day, when FOON wakes up, he finds a letter from LING and an agreement for separation.… ...

When the KO’s family learns that LING is pregnant, they all volunteer to help her raise the child. LING is moved. LEUNG learns from LING that HILDA is in love with him. He questions her about her avoiding him and tells her that he loves her. HILDA then tells him that she may have breast cancer. LEUNG accompanies her to see the doctor, who informs her that she does indeed have a tumour in her breast. The doctor does not know if it is malignant or not. HILDA is worried. FOON is shocked to discover that LING is pregnant and LING is anxious that FOON fights for the child. To her surprise and dismay, FOON lets her keep the baby for herself. FOON brings CRYSTAL home and his relatives criticise him for deserting LING. CHU is annoyed when she hears that CRYSTAL is not going to have a baby with FOON. FOON offers to break up with CRYSTAL, as he is still in love with LING. LING visits Lamma Island and comes across the fortune-teller again.… ...
