Hard Eight? This is easily a hard 8.5 out of 10. Phillip Baker Hall is so soulful, calm and cool in this movie it’s gripping to watch, even though it’s not particularly heavy in plot. It’s rare to see a director this confident and well realized on a debut film. The use of the camera is fantastic. Kind of blew away tempered expectations. 🎲🎲🎲🎲.5 / 🎲🎲🎲🎲🎲.
